Position

GIS Analyst

  • Location:Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland
  • Security Clearance:Active Clearance or Eligible to Obtain -U.S. citizenship required
  • Salary:$65,000 - $85,000Depending on Experience and Education
  • Travel:20%

Position Summary

SURVICE Engineeringis currently seeking aGIS Analystto support our Aberdeen Area Operation. You will accelerate your career and become an integral team member within the defense community.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide geospatial analytical support to our customer, the Combat Capabilities Development Command, Data and Analysis Center.
  • Responsible for gathering geospatial data; characterizing terrain; interpreting imagery; developing geospatial products that may include shapefiles, geodatabases, raster datasets, tools/toolboxes, and data visualization products.
  • Supporting development of battle damage assessment analysis methods.
  • Supporting database analysis; and writing briefings and reports to document processes and work performed.

Minimum Qualifications of GIS Analyst Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and 1+ years of relevant experience. Exceptional candidates with less experience will be considered. Candidates are not required to possess all qualifications; if you possess some of the desired qualifications, please apply.

  • Understanding of geographic information system (GIS) mapping and GIS software.
  • Coding background/experience (Python/Javascript)
  • Database Management/SQL
  • Web mapping/Web scraping
  • Optical characterization recognition (OCR)
  • Expected to have or obtain Security + certification.
