How will you make an impact?

Summary: This Sr. Financial Analyst will lead key financial planning and analysis activities for the Molecular Biology business unit in Biosciences Division. The role will report to the Senior Finance Manager, Molecular Biology FP&A, working together to provide Business Unit (BU) and functional support to business partners. The role will be actively involved in the preparation of the monthly and quarterly closing and business reviews, as well as the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Strategic Operating Plan (STRAP). This role will directly support and work closely with leadership team and Senior Director of Finance. This is a high visibility role within the company, allowing you tremendous opportunity for learning and long-term career growth. Key responsibilities:

  • Support FP&A for this business unit, including operating mechanisms such as STRAP, AOP, monthly forecasting and reporting, monthly/quarterly business reviews

  • Partner FP&A and Systems teams to drive reporting integrity, accuracy, and process efficiency

  • Lead all system-related procedures for forecast and AOP, including consolidation from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy and data integrity

  • Drive accurate monthly OPEX reporting and forecasting, ensuring ownership and accountability within the business unit

  • Provide financial analytics and support TSS leaders to drive revenue growth

  • Collaborate with division FP&A, accounting, commercial and operations finance to drive financial visibility and efficiency

  • Identify, develop, and implement improvements to existing reporting processes using the PPI business system. Promote innovation and automation

  • Champion other ad-hoc projects and initiatives, as assigned or as self-identified areas for improvement and development

How will you get here?

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Administration

Experience:

3+ years of direct experience in financial analysis, reporting, and accounting within a large, professionally managed operating company is required.

5+ years of experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Ability to handle multiple assignments, exercise good judgement, and prioritize projects and time effectively

  • Demonstrable proficiency in financial reporting systems, such as Hyperion Planning, Power BI, as well as Excel, with an emphasis on financial modelling

  • Self-reliant, problem solver with a natural bias towards continuous operational improvement

  • Proficient at understanding and proactively communicating the financial implications of business decisions and dynamics

  • Ability to develop high levels of credibility and forge solid and positive professional relationships with peers and upper management

  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people in a matrixed organization across multiple time-zones

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $103,100.00–$154,700.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
