In this position...

This Marketing and Advertising Attorney will be the lead attorney supporting Ford Motor Company's newly developed in-house dealer training organization, which is responsible for creating and producing content to train dealers and customers about Ford's products and services. The Marketing and Advertising attorney will work with the business team to develop infrastructure and protocol for legal compliance in connection with the in-house creation of advertising and training materials and will review and provide legal direction on project treatments and scripts to ensure compliance with federal and state laws regarding false and misleading advertising. The Marketing and Advertising Attorney will provide client training and education, work with third-party companies on promotions, sponsorships and releases, oversee contests and sweepstakes, and help develop a strategy for compliance with SAG-AFTRA requirements. The attorney will be expected to stay abreast of legal developments impacting clients and provide client legal education and training. The attorney will also attend business meetings related to content creation and provide input regarding best practices, will supervise the legal assistant also supporting the team and will attend advertising shoots when needed.

What you'll do...

  • Work with business team to develop infrastructure and protocol for legal compliance in connection with inhouse creation of advertising materials.

  • Review project treatments, outlines, scripts, rough cuts and provide legal advice regarding potential consumer protection risks.

  • Provide single point of contact for clients regarding legal compliance, coordinating with other legal, policy and operational teams to develop effective risk mitigation approach and strategy.

  • Manage compliance support team to ensure efficient and effective advertising reviews and preparation of claim substantiation.

  • Participate in the negotiation and drafting of license agreements and marketing partnership agreements.

  • Develop effective SAG-AFTRA compliance strategy.

  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline business processes leveraging legal tools.

  • Attend business meetings related to content creation and provide input regarding best practices.

  • Attend on-location advertising shoots when needed.

  • Stay abreast of legal developments impacting clients and provide legal education and training for clients.

You'll have...

  • JD Degree.

  • 7+ years providing legal advice regarding commercial, digital media, marketing and advertising- related matters and strategic initiatives.

  • Familiarity with state and federal consumer protection laws.

  • Familiarity with SAG-AFTRA compliance requirements.

  • Ability to interact comfortably with executives and senior management.

  • Ability to manage multiple internal stakeholders and balance differing opinions and perspectives.

  • Strong verbal and analytical skills.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.

  • Highly team-oriented.

  • A commitment to professionalism.

  • Flexibility as to the types of projects assigned.

  • Solid business acumen.

  • The ability to manage several simultaneous projects under deadline pressure.

  • OEM experience a plus, but not required.
