Transportation Research Center, Inc. Director, Advanced Mobility in East Liberty, Ohio

Purpose The Director of Advanced Mobility leads the delivery of world class solutions for clients developing advanced transportation technologies, including: driver assistance, driving automation, and connected vehicle technologies. They are accountable for operation of the Advanced Mobility Division, and development and implementation of strategic direction and growth for this service area. Essential Functions* · Maintain day-to-day operations of the Advanced Mobility Department with staff of 20-40 Project Managers, Engineers, and Technicians · Provide direct leadership to Advanced Mobility's managers and team leaders, and coordinate resources between Test & Verification, Research & Analysis, and Operations Teams. · Develop and maintain a strategic plan for the Division with accountability for top-line and bottom line financial health and growth, including the evolution and development of Advanced Mobility's services portfolio. · Support TRC's organizational initiatives and represent Advanced Mobility in leadership meetings. · Cultivate opportunities and direct proposal development efforts in collaboration with internal and external partners. · Accountable for various organizational functions including: personnel actions, budget development and tracking, pricing, and policy/process development and implementation · Develop and cultivate relationships between Advanced Mobility and key clients, partners, and stakeholders. · Based on organizational thresholds and policy, review and approve proposals, budgets, project/test plans, travel expense reports, project deliverables, time entries, and purchases. · Represent the Advanced Mobility Department in public venues (conferences, trade shows, media). · Provide direct technical and managerial guidance in project execution and proposal development, and directly engage to remedy at risk projects/proposals. · Provide resources and develop processes to efficiently and successfully onboard and develop employees. · Willingness to provide direct support to the Operations, Research & Analysis, and Testing & Verification Teams, which may include hands-on tasks and assignments. · Promote technical and operational excellence, and support TRC's core values in actions and through organizational culture. Other Duties and Responsibilities (Non-Essential Functions) · Support weekly coordination meetings for each group within AM (Testing and Verification, Research and Analysis, Operations). · Support integration and maintenance of Advanced Mobility into the Quality Management System. · Possess knowledge of TRC internal systems (ERP, CRM, HR, IT, Finance) to extract needed information and ensure compliance with organizational requirements. · Ensure the coordination of project activities for efficient and timely use of resources. · Lead post-project reviews. · Develop, and track, KPIs. (Specific to groups within AM and organization wide) · Develop and maintain digital tools and processes to improve operational efficiency and consistency. · Maintain proprietary atmosphere. · Monitor the progress and budget of AM's complete project portfolio. · Develop and enact growth strategies for each department and service line within AM. · Allocate and coordinate resource to meet AM's organizational and financial objectives. · Support TRC Inc.'s Quality and EH&S (Environmental, Health, and Safety) effort
