Science Systems and Applications, Inc. Program Finance Manager in Lanham, Maryland

Science Systems and Applications, Inc. (SSAI) is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Program Finance Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, particularly within the government contracting sector, and will be responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of our program operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's growth objectives and ensure compliance with government contracting regulations.

  • Manage all financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.

  • Monitor and analyze financial performance against budget and provide regular reports to senior management.

  • Oversee cash flow management, including billing, collections, and vendor payments.

  • Ensure compliance with government regulations and contract requirements, including DCAA and FAR guidelines.

  • Lead the annual audit process and coordinate with external auditors.

  • Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management to support decision-making and drive profitability.

  • Supervise and mentor finance team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field and a minimum of 10 years of combined experience in finance and/or leadership roles, with significant exposure to government contracting. Equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.

  • In-depth knowledge of government contracting regulations, including DCAA, FAR, and CAS.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with senior management, government officials, and external stakeholders.

  • Proven leadership ability, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.

  • Experience with ERP systems and financial management software.

  • Ability to develop solutions to complex financial problems.

  • US Citizenship required.

    Desired Qualifications:

  • MBA or CPA preferred

  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint or similar package

    Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to touch, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee frequently is required to talk and hear and occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
