What You Will Do:

As a Senior Staff Engineer your focus will be on the simulation of electronic/electrical systems and PCB (Printed Circuit Board) designs. Your expertise will drive the development of new or improved medical devices, considering factors such as quality, cost, time, and regulatory constraints. This role requires a deep technical understanding of electrical components, systems simulations, and their applications, combined with exceptional communication skills. Your contributions will directly impact product lines and the evolution of our innovative medical device solutions.

  • Develop innovative simulation methods and processes for electrical systems, driving engineering breakthroughs for new products.

  • Engage and collaborate closely with potential and current internal customers (R&D engineers and program management). Your role is to identify, advance, and technically drive solutions that support program milestones and product development needs, enable efficient exploration of design and material alternatives, and ensure alignment with assessments for milestone and signoff reviews.

  • Conduct feasibility studies, design, analysis, and product testing through comprehensive electrical and electronic simulations. This includes printed circuit board (PCB) analysis, antenna/RFID field simulation, EMI/EMC simulation, power electronics simulation including motors, inverters, and solenoids, and thermal analysis of electronics housing. Your role will involve innovating, implementing, and recommending cost and time-efficient design solutions that address problems of varied complexities through in-depth electrical and electronic simulations.

  • Conduct detailed analysis of complex workflows related to a variety of electrical applications within the medical device space. This includes the simulation of power electronics such as motors, inverters, and solenoids. A particular focus will be on improving the quality, reliability, and performance of electronic/electrical systems and PCB designs while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Lead the validation of models using lab test data to ensure accuracy and reliability of electrical simulations.

  • Assist in evaluating internal and external capabilities to support product and test development.

  • Manage projects with external consultant firms to ensure successful CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) project completion within specific timelines.

  • Collaborate with Technical Leadership and project management team to manage work breakdown, scheduling, and project updates.

  • Present CAE results in a clear, concise format for management review.

  • Develop, organize, and deliver technical training courses on ANSYS CAE simulation products, while sustaining technical proficiency through continuous learning in pursuit of personal, technical, and professional growth.

  • Enjoy the opportunity to work with diverse technologies including surgical power tools, operating room waste management systems, etc.

What You Will Need:
