Responsibilities for the position will include, but are not limited to: Provides leadership/mentorship and direction to the team members. Engages team members and drives robust root cause corrective actions utilizing appropriate quality tools (5-Whys, fishbone, etc.). Actively monitors nonconformance and corrective actions to ensure timely dispositions and corrective action responses. Provides oversight to the team for development and implementation of methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and documentation. Advises in the design and analysis of inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment and assess the impact of products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Develops and operates within departmental budgets. Tracks and owns metrics related to supplier quality. Responsible for auditing quality systems for deficiency identification and correction and ensuring that corrective measures address acceptable solutions. Establishes strong business relationships with programs and cross-functional organizations. Responsible for coordinating with program managers to ensure appropriate staffing plans are developed and maintained. Provides overall management of the supplier quality and program quality teams by setting and monitoring objectives and providing guidance to direct reports based on goals, objectives, and company policy. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering/technical discipline and 10 years of experience in Quality, Quality Engineering, or Quality Management (7+ years of experience with a master’s degree, 4+ years with a PhD). Prior management experience and proven track record of accomplishments with leadership. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a wide range of audiences. Experience with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality management systems. U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret clearance. Preferred Qualifications: Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent. Extensive prior work experience in the application of quality principles and practices (e.g., quality engineering, inspection, material review, etc.) related to systems engineering, integration, and manufacturing. Demonstrated understanding of reliability analysis, root cause corrective action, and/or inspection methods. Prior experience in continual improvement projects / activities. Experience working with Government Agencies. Material Review Board experience. Active / Current DoD Secret clearance. Salary Range: $119,300 - $178,900 |
