Amazon Senior Program Manager, HL in Tokyo, Japan

Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Program Manager to drive profitability improvement strategy initiatives and improve the customer shopping experience. The primary responsibility of this role is to proactively accelerate business growth by planning, prioritizing, and driving profitability improvement strategies and initiatives to improve the customer multi-item purchase experience on the Amazon site.

The Senior Program Manager will be responsible for strategic project execution, information deployment/knowledge sharing within the business headquarters, and collaboration with relevant departments across Japan as well as global teams. You will also need the ability to prioritize and make decisions based on quantitative analysis, a process-driven approach, and implement decisions quickly in a rapidly growing market environment. This role’s reach is very wide and can have a huge impact on the business as the strategic initiatives can span around the world!

Key job responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead the business by developing and driving initiatives to achieve both medium- and long-term (strategic) and short-term (tactical) business goals.

• Work with the U.S. Program Team to identify, prioritize, and promote projects/initiatives that impact the Hardline Business Unit.

• Perform hands-on data analysis and propose recommendations for issues.

• Realize program progress management, promotion, and further expansion through a system.

• Design, build, and deploy scalable solutions.

• Prioritize new Programs/Features based on trade-off analysis of deployment speed, effectiveness, and functionality.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Fluent Japanese and Business English required.

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pricing strategy, analysis, and management experience.

  • Knowledge of SQL or desire to learn.

  • MBA (nice to have)
